ADD of ADHD?

ADD or ADHD?

What are the differences ...

ADHD is a very complex disorder, and not all people with ADHD
 have the same symptoms.
According to the reference work DSM-IV (Diagnostic and
Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition), there are
three types of ADHD.
People (although, in DSM-IV) is now only spoken) about children
with ADHD can only concentrate (ADD),
they can have a shape which hyperactivity and impulsivity
are most typical or they can form a combination both species have.

1. ADD the type with only concentration problems

According to DSM-IV are the characteristics of the type with
nbsp;concentration problems:
easily distracted by irrelevant things and sounds;
have difficulty with planning and organizing;
have problems with finish tasks and deadlines;
failure to focus on details and this sloppy mistakes;
seldom accurate and complete instructions follow up;
lose or forget things like keys, wallet, travel documents and
stuff that are needed to complete a task.

This type is ADD.

Here is missing so the H of hyperactivity. Meanwhile,
researchers agree that at least 40% of all people with ADHD
(particularly women) only the concentration problems.
These people lead a life full of frustration, not only because they turn
out to fail in almost everything they do, but also because they are frequently labelled as lazy, stupid and uninterested.
The fact is that people with ADD cannot be able to bring something to want.
That cost them incredibly much more energy than others.
ADD'ers without hyperactivity and impulsivity are unfortunately rarely
diagnosed, because they do not stand out by troublesome behavior.

2. HD, with only the type of hyperactivity and impulsivity

Some characteristics of this type are:
restlessness, constant move with hands or feet, becoming verzitten;
have difficulty waiting for gratification in the longer term;
Affairs cannot defer, but of all at once;
hard driving, hurry, cannot continue to sit in quiet situations where sitting
or behaviour expected; during a call, others still pause;
uncontrollable anger, fear or am crying outbursts.

3. ADHD, combined type

The combined type is characterized by both concentration problems,
hyperactivity and impulsivity.
Most people with ADHD belong to this category.
The life of a ADHD'er is as well as that of a ADD'er characterized by
a succession of disappointments, but here comes that ADHD'ers by their
excessive behavior often the anger of others.
They are criticized more than others, bullied and abused.
In addition, an adult with ADHD to do with the emotional effects
of growing up with an extremely temperament, what child age sometimes,
but later more often not understood.

Without a doubt is the most important development in the area of ADHD
the widely accepted recognition that many children do not grow over it.
In at least 70% of all cases remain the principal symptoms in adults.
It is obvious that the typical outer "hyperactive" by them often better under
control is held, but not the inner turmoil takes off!
The attributes as impulsivity and concentration problems usually also not less.
Stronger: they are often even more frenetic and more problematic,
because society to an adult much higher demands!

The differences at a glance

It is important to recognise that virtually no one a perfect control
over his/her concentration, regulating activities and controlling impulses.
But, as you can see in the following tables, ADD and ADHD is characterized
by symptoms that extreme, chronic and severe are.
